Guitarist/vocalist Michel Rivard and author/composer Pierre Huet formed Quenouille bleue in 1970 at the University of Quebec in Montreal for art-show performances. The duo added keyboard player Robert Leger and later vocalist/pianist Marie-Michele Desrosiers, changing their name to Beau Dommage in 1973. Signed by Capitol, the band (which also included drummer Real Desrosiers and bassist Pierre Bertrand) released a self-titled album two years later. Ou Est Passe la Noce? followed the same year and Un Autre Jour Se Leve en Ville in 1977. With Rivard and Marie-Michele Desrosiers wishing to begin solo careers and the rest of the band ready to leave, Beau Dommage broke up, releasing Passagers and Les Grands Succes de Beau Dommage in 1978. The band re-formed in 1984 for a special live performance; live dates from Montreal were compiled onto two 1985 albums, Au Forum de Montreal and 26 et 27 Octobre 1984 Au Forum de Montreal. The greatest hits album Leurs Plus Grands Succes was released in 1988. AMG.
